The Legend Of Sleeping Man

Awakened to the lives he stole
From thoughts the night before
Asleep he pondered, seizing souls
Of those left unignored
By his dreams that took their toll
The death that they ensured
The peace of mind they did annul
And all he must endure

Sleeping Man-
Arise to take a break
Sleeping Man-
From the dreams you make
Sleeping Man-
Realize your mistake
Sleeping Man-
Wanted dead or awake

He prays never to see the night
But a consciousness extension
Now approaching absence of light
Wanting to ease the tension
From another day he had to fight
The dreams he dare not mention
Knowing all along wrong from right
A heart and mind dissension

Sleeping Man-
You’re out in a flash
Sleeping Man-
When it’s time to crash
Sleeping Man-
Destroyed what crossed your path
Sleeping Man-
Now we reap your wrath

Still a threat to all mankind
For as long as his stay
Appearing in his dreams unkind
Death’s the price to pay
Still we never came to mind
That’s why we’re here today
Though anytime we could find
He’s dreamed us all away

Sleeping Man-
You keep it all inside
Sleeping Man-
In yourself you confide
Sleeping Man-
Dream along for the ride
Sleeping Man-
Dream your own suicide!
